All Greene County students who will be in first, second or third grade when school starts are invited to “Rocket into Reading” next Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 12-13, from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the elementary school in Jefferson.
Rocket into Reading is open to all elementary students regardless of their reading placement. Staff is planning fun activities that will give students a jump start on the school year. “We want to fire up our students’ reading skills and get them ready to blast off for the new school year,” said district reading specialist Julie Neal.
There is no charge for Rocket into Reading, but parents are responsible for transportation.
